Micollab app increases accessibility and productivity throughout your organisation

AZ Zeno wants to make its doctors, staff members and management more easily accessible throughout the hospital via their own smartphones. To do so, 25-8 proposed to use the innovative MiCollab app from Mitel, with which the AZ can add their own smartphones to its telephone exchange. Through this integration into a single uniform solution, employees can contact one another more quickly and thus will have more time to actually communicate effectively.

Tom Messiaen, managing partner of 25-8: "Until recently, each employee received from the hospital a dedicated mobile device, with the software of the hospital´s communication platform on it. For doctors, who often have their own practice, that meant a second device parallel to their own iPhone or other smartphone. These users are generally not delighted about having two devices. Moreover they are often unreachable, because they are talking on the one device and consequently can’t deal with a second incoming call on the other one, not even automatically."

"Nevertheless, working together these days is no longer limited to small rooms and conference tables. Doctors and management have very busy schedules and must be able to effectively manage their available time. Their accessibility thus has to be improved, regardless of whether they are at the office, at home or en route", adds Peter Debie, channel manager at Mitel. The innovative MiCollab app makes this happen. “An additional benefit is that the same application offers extensive possibilities for working together during meetings, with video, desktop sharing and document collaboration.”

"The decision to guarantee accessibility through the use of the mobile network is an important development. A number of other functionalities - such as forwarding, setting up call flows and accessing the internal telephone directory - are also possible thanks to this technology. Moreover, you can very easily call a contact via the unique click-through functionality", Peter Debie concludes.

"We note immediately a reduction in the number of missed calls for e.g. the doctors in AZ Zeno Knokke. Moreover, the hospital has to buy fewer ´second´ devices, which has a clear impact on the operating and investment costs”, Tom Messiaen concludes for his part. ”We are doing everything we can to improve the communication and collaboration in healthcare organisations. Always with the same goal in mind: how can we offer a better care experience for both the caregiver and the person needing care and his circle?”
